What she did is a memorial to her

It was two days before Passover and before Jesus was to be crucified.  He was in Bethany at the house of Simon.  A woman came to Him with fragrant oil in an alabaster flask and she anointed Him by pouring the oil out over Him.
The disciples weren't happy about that, they said she could have sold it (it was expensive fragrant oil) and given the money to the poor, but Jesus told them that she is doing something good and that she is preparing His body for His burial.
He also said that wherever the Gospel is preached to the world, this woman will be remembered for what she did.

Matthew 26:7-13
..a woman came to Him having an alabaster flask of very costly fragrant oil, and she poured it on His head as He sat at the table.
But when His disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, "Why this waste?
For this fragrant oil might have been sold for much and given to the poor."
But when Jesus was aware of it, He said to them, "Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a good work for Me.
For you have the poor with you always, but Me you do not have always.
For in pouring this fragrant oil on My body, she did it for My burial.
Assuredly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be told as a memorial to her."

As I read what she did and what Jesus said about her, it made me smile.  Jesus never lies!  His Words are true, just look at us, here at this time, still reading about the beautiful thing she did for Jesus. :D  Truly a blessed woman, what a privilege to have been the one to anoint Jesus.
Jesus never lies!

Thanks for reading! :)  God bless you in abundance in Jesus' Holy name.

Have you fed Jesus yet?

Have you fed Jesus yet, clothed Him, gave Him a drink?  You might ask, but how are you supposed to do that?

If you see a beggar on the street, do you walk by pretending he doesn't exist?  When someone knocks on your door asking for something to eat, do you feed them and give them something to drink?  When they ask you for clothes, do you send them away?

You might say, but there are so many beggars on the street, it is impossible to help them all.  Yes, but if you help just one, you've already done a great deal and if you've helped that beggar, Jesus says it is as though you've helped Him! :)  It pleases God that we do that for others.

It bothers me that some people say, "Oh I don't give money to beggars, they'll just spend it on alcohol!"  In my eyes, it's none of your business what they do with that money, you've done your bit for God, what they do with it is between them and God.  You should give to someone with love in your heart, for if you do all these things, but you do not have love in your heart, it means nothing.  You must have the compassion for others like Jesus has for them and for you.  Paul says in 1 Corinthians 13:3   And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.  You see, it is all about LOVE.  That's what God is all about. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  See, God is all about love. :)

How about that jersey or jacket that's in your closet, that you haven't worn in a year?  Instead of feeding the moths, give it to a needy person!  Or when you come across a beggar, give some money, even if he may go and buy some drink, drunks get hungry too ya know. :)  You don't know what they are going to do, doesn't matter, just lend a helping hand, with love.

Matthew 25:34-43
34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;
36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.'
37 Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink?
38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You?
39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?'
40 And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.'
41 Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:
42 for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink;
43 I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.'

Thanks for reading.  :)  God bless you in Jesus' Holy name.

Do you sit at Jesus' feet?

Luke 10:38-41
38 Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet and heard His word. 40 But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, "Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me." 41 And Jesus answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. 42 But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her." When do we sit at Jesus' feet?  When we pray, when we talk to Him, when we listen to a sermon about His Word, when we worship Him and when we are busy reading the bible, we are sitting at His feet. I experience calmness when I do those things, also excitement, especially when I have a lightbulb moment when reading His word and I know that lightbulb moment was the Holy Spirit. :D  I find that such a wondrous thing.  God is amazing and I love Him so much.

Thanks for reading, God bless you.

Rivers of Living Water

John 7:2 Now the Jews' Feast of Tabernacles was at hand. John 7:37-39 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water." But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.  Out of the believer's heart will flow "rivers of living water".  That's the Holy Spirit! :)  But they did not receive Him yet, because Jesus was not yet glorified.  To think we have Jesus' Spirit dwelling in our hearts!  That is absolutely wonderful to think of, isn't it?! :D  You have the Spirit of the Creator of the Universe dwelling in you when you believe in His Son Jesus and repent of your sins!  What an absolutely great love our Creator has for us.  He could have just condemned us all to eternal damnation.  We surely deserve it, with all our sins.

But no, He cares about us, His creatures, His children.  GOD is LOVE.  So should we be when we have His Holy Spirit, full of love for others, even our enemies as Jesus commanded us in Matt 5:44-48
But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
Thanks for reading :)  God bless you in Jesus' Holy Name.

Faith

Scriptures on faith.

Luk 8:5  A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.
Luk 8:6  And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.
Luk 8:7  And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.
Luk 8:8  And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold.  And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Luk 8:9  And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?
Luk 8:10  And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.
Luk 8:11  Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
Luk 8:12  Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
Luk 8:13  They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
Luk 8:14  And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
Luk 8:15  But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

Oh people of little faith!!  In times of trouble cling to Jesus!  We all go through trials on this earth.  Sometimes it is a test from God of our faith!  Don't let it get you down, know that God is in control and ultimately everything will work out in a way that brings glory to Him and Him alone! :)

I've learned the hard way, failed miserably, but through it all came back to Jesus, who is my ONLY hope in times of trouble and sadness.  Don't let the spirit of fear overwhelm you.  2 Tim 1:7  For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

I'm learning that when hard times come, not to feel desperate or panic, but to stay calm, think of Jesus, ask His help, get into the Word and ask the Holy Spirit to give me peace and He does!! :)

Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit

Matt 12:31-32  "Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.  Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.   If you blaspheme against the Holy Spirit, if you speak impiously of his nature, attributes and works, you shall not be forgiven!  I also think that if someone has the Holy Spirit working in them and you say no, it's not the Holy Spirit, but demonic, that is also blasphemy!  So guard your mouth!  We will be held accountable on the day of judgment for every idle word we spoke!

Father in heaven, please forgive me any idle words spoken in my lifetime,  I am very sorry and through your Holy Spirit help me to guard my mouth and think before I speak.  In Jesus' Holy Name I pray.  Thank you and Amen.
Thank God I have never had the urge to blaspheme the Holy Spirit.  I respect Him too much!

Let us never forget the holiness of God and show Him the respect He deserves as the Creator of the universe!  He is our Creator, who became flesh to die on the cross as the only Worthy Holy Lamb to be sacrificed for our foul sins and who rose from the dead and left us His Holy Spirit to comfort and teach us.  HOLY HOLY HOLY is the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, WHO WAS AND IS AND IS TO COME!

God's Grace and Love

Satan does not want you to know that sin does no longer have dominion over you under grace!  He wants you to think he's still in control.  Ha!

Please watch this awesome video and see God's Grace explained to you from the Bible.  Be blessed! :)

Have you turned your back on God?  Do you feel ashamed, guilty about your sins.  He wants you to come back to Him.  He's waiting for you with open arms! :D Come back to Him, before it's too late!

Signs of the times

What a kick-off to 2012.  More birds (black birds) dying in Arkansas, fish washed up on the shores of Norway and then disappearing!  More earthquakes all over the world, continually in Christchurch, New Zealand and what's up with all these volcanoes waking up?!  People, if this does not speak to your heart, that something is up, then I don't know.

I do believe with my whole heart it is God speaking to us, warning us to get our hearts right with Him.  Time is few, He is coming soon!  Yes we don't know the day or the hour, but we can know the season!

Matthew 24:32-34  "Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near--at the doors! 34 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place."
Hebrews 12:25-29  See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven, 26 whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, "Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven." 27 Now this, "Yet once more," indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain. 28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. 29 For our God is a consuming fire.
Hosea 4:1-3  Hear the word of the Lord, You children of Israel, For the Lord brings a charge against the inhabitants of the land: "There is no truth or mercy Or knowledge of God in the land. 2 By swearing and lying, Killing and stealing and committing adultery, They break all restraint, With bloodshed upon bloodshed. 3 Therefore the land will mourn; And everyone who dwells there will waste away With the beasts of the field And the birds of the air; Even the fish of the sea will be taken away.
Zephaniah 1:3  "I will consume man and beast; I will consume the birds of the heavens, The fish of the sea, And the stumbling blocks along with the wicked. I will cut off man from the face of the land," Says the Lord.

Read God's Word, the Bible.  Get your heart right with Jesus.

God bless you, in Jesus' Holy Name.

God really loves you

Psalm 8:1-9

1 O Lord, our Lord, your greatness is seen in all the world! Your praise reaches up to the heavens; 2 it is sung by children and babies.  You are safe and secure from all your enemies; you stop anyone who opposes you. 3 When I look at the sky, which you have made, at the moon and the stars, which you set in their places - 4 what are human beings, that you think of them;  mere mortals, that you care for them? 5 Yet you made them inferior only to yourself;  you crowned them with glory and honor. 6 You appointed them rulers over everything you made;  you placed them over all creation: 7 sheep and cattle, and the wild animals too; 8 the birds and the fish and the creatures in the seas. 9 O Lord, our Lord, your greatness is seen in all the world!

When I say...

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I’m not shouting, “I’ve been saved!”
I’m whispering, “I get lost!
That’s why I chose this way”

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I don’t speak with human pride
I’m confessing that I stumble -
needing God to be my guide

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I’m not trying to be strong
I’m professing that I’m weak
and pray for strength to carry on

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I’m not bragging of success
I’m admitting that I’ve failed
and cannot ever pay the debt

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I don’t think I know it all
I submit to my confusion
asking humbly to be taught

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I’m not claiming to be perfect
My flaws are far too visible
but God believes I’m worth it

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I still feel the sting of pain
I have my share of heartache
which is why I seek His name

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I do not wish to judge
I have no authority
I only know I’m loved

Be still...

For this last week or so, I keep reading these words from the Bible, totally random:  Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God, I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

If I'm not seeing it in my Bible, I'm seeing it on Twitter, Facebook, different websites.  I have been anxious lately, troubled by some things and was asking God about it.  We have such an awesome God, He knows just what message to send us, what we need to hear. :)  I will be still and know that He is God.  :)  Praise God!

God bless you, in Jesus' Holy Name.

Your Mom or Dad...

Tell them you love them and appreciate everything they've ever done for you. :)

Amanda

The meaning of my name, Amanda

Doubt

Yesterday I was feeling very sad.  This sadness came out of nowhere.  I was reading some things various people were saying about people thinking that they're saved, but they really are not.  That scared me.  Made me wonder if I'm really saved.

So I prayed to God to show me in His Word that I am saved and to remove all doubt I have about it.  I was reading a Christian page on Facebook and the following verses quoted from the Bible caught my eye.

John 10:28-30  28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish , neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. 30 I and my Father are one.
Matt 28:20  ...and, lo , I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Col 2:9-10   9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power.

That was a comfort to me :)  Took away the sadness.  God is so good and loving.  You know, we as Christians should watch what and how we say things to others, you can put doubt in their minds.  Also, sometimes satan puts doubt in your mind, trying to interfere with God's plan for you, trying to get you off-track.  Always pray about something and ask God for His help.  He will answer you! :)

God bless you.

The clock is ticking...

We've been seeing in the news for a while now about birds dropping dead from the sky, coastlines filled with dead fish, dead animals randomly worldwide.  Scary stuff isn't it!  Surely God must be speaking to your heart, telling you these are the signs of the end times.  I just love how on Youtube so many of God's children are posting videos about dreams they had!  Awesome stuff, Jesus is coming!  I just know it, because although I've always been a child of God, I've neglected my bible reading, but lately I have this huge hunger for God's Word, to be near Him, to pray constantly, to read anything I can about Him.  I don't have the love for worldly things anymore.  When we die we can't take it with us!  Don't care to have the fanciest house, biggest car, biggest flat screen TV.

Talking about TV...I've totally lost the desire to watch TV!!  Isn't that amazing?!! :D  God is so awesome.  We must remember, God's Holy Spirit lives inside us, so we must be careful what we feed our souls.  I used to watch Dexter, True Blood, but now...I just KNOW in my heart it's not what God wants me to watch!  What good does it do our souls to be watching such filth...none!  I used to love listening to pop music, but now...the desire to always be listening to that kind of music is totally gone!  I'm loving listening to gospel, hymns, praise and worship music.  It is so awesome when God calls us near to Him.  Heed that call!  He LOVES us, He wants us to have a relationship with Him.  He's a jealous God, he wants all of you.  Praise Jesus, He is so good all the time!

I was reading in Hosea 4:1-19 and it made my jaw drop!  "..and everyone is wasting away.  Even the wild animals, the birds of the sky, and the fish of the sea are disappearing."  That part just stood out for me, grabbed my attention.

God bless you, in Jesus' Holy Name.

Why you need to avoid trans fats

All4Women - Why you need to avoid trans fats
You have probably heard that trans fats are harmful to your health, but how much do you really know about what they really do and how you can avoid them?
Trans fat is an unnaturally produced type of fat
It is created when hydrogenated oils and vegetable oils are combined. Trans fat is used in the food industry because it has a higher melting point and longer shelf life.
Because these trans fats are created through an artificial process, the human body is unable to process them.
Consuming food products that contain trans fats can lead to many health problems including coronary heart disease, cancer, obesity, diabetes, and Alzheimer’s disease.
Check food labels
When doing your shopping, check the labels of everything you buy and avoid anything that is labelled “partially hydrogenated” or which contains hydrogenated oils.
Try to purchase items labelled zero trans fats
You should also avoid prepackaged snacks and foods with an unnaturally long shelf life.
Think about things you make at home like cookies, donuts, or bread. How long would you keep these things before they go bad? Not more than a few days at the most.
So if these same things you buy from the store have a shelf life of weeks or months, then you can be sure that they are full of trans fats and preservatives.
Try to eat fresh foods, and prepare them at home as much as possible
For example, instead of buying a cake mix at the store, it would be better to buy the ingredients separately.
If you often eat outside of the home, it can be harder to completely avoid trans fats. But there are some ways to minimize their intake. When eating out, you can avoid certain foods that are fairly likely to contain high levels of trans fats.
Foods with a high trans fat content
Foods to avoid include deep fried foods like French fries, fried chicken, donuts, and extra toppings like bacon, mayonnaise, or cheese. (At most fast food restaurants the cheese is highly processed.)
If you have to eat out, when you are at work, or on the go, try to choose healthier meal options like fresh salads, steamed vegetables, whole-wheat sandwiches, and soups.
Trans fats are so deadly that certain countries and states have banned manufacturers from using them
Denmark became the first country to do this in 2003. California was the first state in the U.S. to ban trans fats from restaurant food. Other states including New York, Florida, Massachusetts, and Connecticut, have also banned trans fats from restaurants and schools.
